Forests cover more than 30% of our planet’s whole area. Forests clean our air and water, give us work, protect, and even enable life itself. As usual, we do not value what we have. Everyone has heard of deforestation, illegal logging, forest degradation, and nature/human-caused catastrophes, lead to a rapid decline in the forest area. Reports say, if nothing is done, we will account for over 80 percent of forest loss globally by 2030.

Forests are under threat.

Of course, forestry insurance can’t cover all forestry risks. However, it can show commercially approved modern technologies and approaches for the governments, companies, communities, and other stakeholders to promote best forest management practices, combat illegal logging, protect forested areas, and more.

To encourage all interested stakeholders to act, we decided to join our efforts and provide the webinar “Forestry Insurance”.

We will spend 1.5 hours discussing best forest insurance practices, including technical aspects of forest monitoring with modern high-precision satellites, image recognition technics, and Machine Learning.

Ian Shynkarenko, CEO of Agroinsurance International, will moderate the webinar using his tremendous agile experience and skills in agriculture insurance consulting and marketing.

Roman Shynkarenko, Technical Director of Agroinsurance International, will talk about technical aspects of forestry insurance: Product Design, Underwriting, and Loss Assessment.

Peter Welton, Senior Agriculture Underwriter and Client Manager at Swiss Reinsurance Company, will share Swiss Re forestry insurance strategic vision and approaches.

Erik Zillmann, Planet Technical Sales Engineer, will give us technical insight from Planet-  the leading provider of global, near-daily satellite imagery data and insights – concerning how unique Planet satellite technology opens new opportunities for forestry insurance.

Victor Yermak, CEO of Skyglyph, shows live forestry cases from Australia, Indonesia, and Ukraine, demonstrating the capabilities of remote sensing technologies for forestry insurance and conservation monitoring.
